Excerpts from the book “MUTANT” by NQ.
2019,  Arnoldsche Art Publishers

My cell phone schemes behind my back to jump into my skin and live inside of me. since it the computer knows that I am addicted staring in stupor at the light of the screen.

Like a drug dealer it feeds me unrepentant. Weaker by the day my body increasingly numb my soul dissolves in the glowing electrical waves. reaching inside me invasive tentacles I can't stop them addictive vibration like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like a fish on a hook. I agitate to free myself.

Sometimes then surrender exhausted. limp I have become a prisoner of light.

TRANSFORMATIONS

Naked
in the fog
cold
apprehensive
on the body everywhere holes blossom.

Emerging snakes dangling their heads in mid air
reach outwards
into the dark night
black.

Stunned
in slow motion
lying down face to the ground
cautiously.

Reptiles ooze out of everywhere
abandon the body
more and more creatures pour out
lizards, butterflies, insects
worms, flies, ants, mice
through the enlarging offices
bigger and bigger
faster and faster.

Then silence frozen stillness
winter.
No one there,
nor the creatures who fled.

On the ground,
dust disturbed,
tracks reaching outwards turn into glyphs
forgotten languages,
mysterious marks,
echoes of ancient eruption.

San Francisco 1974

MELANCHOLY

Leggerissima polvere, la malinconina si poggia sul
paesaggio.
La disperazione scorre lenta nelle vene,
serpente senza testa e senza coda.
